5 reason why...

 I love wearing stripes.

1) They add more depth and interest to an outfit - I'm not one for wearing a lot of colour or pattern in my style, so adding stripes into an outfit breaks up the plain colours without going too over the top.

2) They can be worn on any occasion - stripes can be worn casually like this, or made to look more dressy and formal. I always find that wider stripes look more casual for day-to-day and thinner pinstripes for a formal outfit with a fun twist.

3) They can flatter all figures - horizontal stripes can be more flattering on people with smaller frames as they give the illusion of widening. I'm not very blessed in the boob department, so wearing horizontal stripes makes it seem as though my chest area is bigger and gives me more shape! Vertical stripes are great for elongating the figure, especially if the stripes are thinner, and can give the illusion of a slimmer body.

4) They're timeless - stripes will always be around season after season, and never go out of style. So if you want to invest in a higher quality item or want to make sure you'll get the wear out of a piece, then a striped item if a safe option to go for.

5) Options - as stripes are such a popular and timeless pattern, there are so many different styles and colour combinations. Personally I like to wear the more 'traditional' navy/white stripe combo, but there are plenty of different colour ways that can be found if you want something more vibrant and fun. I also love that there are so many variations of stripes....from really thin, subtle pinstripes, to wide, block stripes. I also think it's really cool when people mix different stripes together (don't think I could pull that off)....but with stripes there are so many options of how to wear them!
