SUMMER SKIN

Summer has finally arrived in the UK woohoo, and it looks like it's here to stay ~ hopefully! As much as I love spending time relaxing in the sunshine (need to make the most of it), it does get me thinking about the changes I need to make in my skincare routine.

SPF is important all year round, not just in the Summer months, however with the weather getting hotter and hotter we need to remember to add that extra step into our beauty routine each day. Usually in the colder/wetter months I rely on my moisturiser or foundation to provide me with sun protection on my face, as most of them now contain SPF, but in Summer I always like to put an extra layer on.

It's no secret that I've been loving this product for a few years now and I have definitely mentioned it before here on my blog, but it deserves another shoutout! Vichy is a brand that I have always loved, and I have used many of their products before including toner and make-up remover. My skin type is combination, so whilst I like keeping my skin hydrated, I also like to stay away from adding excess oil to my face - and I feel as though Vichy products always balance out my skin nicely.

This Vichy SPF might look like a normal face suncream to you, but it's actually catered towards skin that is naturally more oily, and therefore sinks in so quickly and leaves a matte finish (unlike most suncreams which make my skin feel like a greasy mess). I apply this each morning before my moisturiser and makeup and it honestly doesn't feel like you're wearing an extra layer. I hate the feeling of thick products on the skin which feel like they're clogging up your pores ~ especially in Summer when it's hot, but this is such a light (but v. necessary) layer which actually makes for quite a nice matte base. Knowing my face is more protected against the sun, whilst also knowing that it doesn't look shiny means that I can happily soak up some more Vitamin D.
