Sometimes I like to step out of my comfort zone when it comes to my style and mix things up a bit with items that I wouldn't usually go for. I have always been a 'skinny jeans' kinda girl, and never usually steer away from my trusty Topshop Joni/Jamie jeans. I know exactly how to style them and how they fit my figure, but most importantly, they make me feel comfortable. However, when I was looking for my latest pair of jeans to purchase, I wanted to try out something different from my usual.

I've always liked how 'mom jeans' or 'boyfriend jeans' looked on other people, as they seem a lot more relaxed and cool to style, but I just didn't think they would look good on me. After debating with myself on numerous shopping trips and trying on different styles, cuts and shades, I finally found this pair from Zara. The thing that I was most worried about was whether they would make my legs look stumpy and short, seeing as I already have quite short legs, and I didn't know whether I would feel comfortable wearing them. Part of me thought I should just stick to what I know, but the other part of me thought that I should take a risk and try something new.

So far I've really liked wearing these jeans, even though I do find them slightly harder to style than my usual skinny jeans. They look good with trainers, boots and even heels for a more dressed up vibe and I also like the high-waisted fit as it makes them much more flattering on the waist area, despite having a wider fit on the legs. I'm still not sure whether they suit me or not, but I think that's mostly because I'm not used to styling them. However, I do think everyone should step out of their comfort zone from time to time with style, because there are so many different options out there which you could end up loving, even if you would usually overlook them. Everyone has their own style and their own style comforts, but I love that you can mix it up so easily with a bit of confidence, and that's what makes fashion fun and interesting.
