RUM, REGGAE AND JERK

I've never done a restaurant review before but if you're not aware already, one of my favourite things to do is to go out for dinner because I love good food (obviously), trying out new restaurants and also getting dressed up in something nicer than jeans and a t-shirt.

However, Turtle Bay is somewhere that I have been many times before and loved, so it's not somewhere I've tried recently or that is a new place, but a restaurant that I keep going back to. This is why I thought I'd write a little review about it for anyone wanting to try out a new place to eat because it is definitely worth the visit. I hadn't been in a while but recently went for a 'girls night' dinner and was reminded of how much I loved it...

Turtle Bay is a chain restaurant which specialises in Caribbean style food and cocktails. It's a perfect place to eat for all occasions whether it's a girls night, date night or celebration. They've got 2-for1 cocktails from 4:30pm-7pm and also after 10pm (winning) and most of their cocktails all have a Caribbean twist to them as well as having a few standards on there such as 'Strawberry Daiquiri's' (yumm). I've eaten here many times for dinner but have also come during the day for lunch too, and there are lighter bites on the menu such as wraps and flatbreads. If you're going for dinner and want the real taste of the Caribbean, I'd highly recommend trying out the signature dish 'Jerk Chicken' or a 'One Pot' dish which can include fish, chicken or goat.

On my recent visit I decided to get a wrap even though I was there for dinner, but this was because I also wanted a starter....gotta push the boat out once in a while! I had the Squid for starters which is my favourite but there are also prawns, whitebait, chicken wings, ribs and many more options for starters. Not to mention the indulgent desert menu they've also got!

The atmosphere is also really vibrant which is what adds to the great experience of eating here. There are multicoloured lights hung up on the ceiling, an open kitchen, tropical bar area and traditional music to add to the vibe.

As far as I know, they've got restaurants in;
- Southampton (my local one)
- Bath
- Bristol
- Leeds
- Bournemouth
- Cardiff
- Ealing
- Cheltenham
- Brixton
- Guildford
- Crawley
- Derby
- Leicester
- Huddersfield
- Leamington Spa
- Birmingham
- Liverpool
- Manchester
- Nottingham
- Oxford
- York
- Milton Keynes
- Walthamstow

  1. I absolutely love Turtle Bay - a new one has recently opened near where I live and I adore it! The decor, the food - the cocktails especially - it's all great. It's such a lovely atmosphere and the servers are so friendly, too - I'd definitely recommend! x
