I can't believe we've come to the end of 2015 already and tomorrow a whole new year will start! I always love this time of year, because its a chance to reflect on all the amazing experiences and moments had throughout the past year and a time to look ahead into the future.

Every year I make a 'New Year's Resolutions' list in the same little blue notebook that I've had for years now. I love looking back at the resolutions I made the previous year, and ticking off the ones I've achieved and laughing at the ones that I didn't even come close to achieving...('wishful thinking' most of the time)! There are a few resolutions that I always keep the same every year such as 'drink more water' or 'get my hair cut more regularly' and resolutions that are different every year depending on what's coming up or what I hope to do in particular such as 'pass my exams at university' or 'finish decorating my room'.

A few resolutions that I've written for 2016 consist of:
- Go on holiday with the girls
- Save up for a better camera
- Graduate from university
- Read more books
- Be more consistent with blogging
- Start driving again
- Organise my holiday photos into albums from 2015

I can safely say that 2015 has been one of the best years of my life....from turning 21, to volunteering in Africa for charity, to visiting amazing cities like Marrakech, Lisbon and Malaga and passing my second year of university and starting my third and final year. There have also been negative moments of course, which everyone experiences throughout life, but these have helped me to make important decisions and helped me to grow into more of the person that I want to be. One of the main things I realised this year, is that I no longer want to become a nurse after I graduate which is for many different reasons but mainly because it's just not right for me. But even though that is a hard decision to make, I'm still carrying on with my degree and completing it until the end, and hopefully I will find a career path that is right for me....maybe 2016 will lead me to that!

But for now, I'll leave you with a few of my favourite pictures from 2015, and I hope you all have the best New Year's Eve and an amazing 2016!! See you next year - (keep an eye out for lots of travel posts from my trips too seeing as you all enjoyed reading about my Malawi and Marrakech adventures)!

I find it quite hard to style most dresses and skirts in Winter without them looking too dressy or formal, so I end up spending most of my time in jeans. But for Christmas this year, my mum bought me this cute, corduroy pinafore style dress from Topshop in a deep red/berry shade, which I thought was the perfect style dress for a casual daytime Winter look.

I styled this with thick black tights and heeled boots to make it more sophistocated and layered it on top of a white jumper for added warmth. I then finished off the look with my new oversized scarf which is a mixture of camel and white shades, and I thought that this complimented the deep red dress really well. It's definitely given me more confidence to wear dresses during the daytime in Winter, and I think layering them with a jumper or long-sleeved top underneath makes them more casual and wearable for a daytime look.

Jumper - H&M >> shop similar here
Tights - Primark >> in store only

Let me know if you've found anymore causal dresses for the Winter season because I'd love to start wearing them more often as I think they look really lovely with tights and boots, and it's definitely more interesting than spending my life in jeans!

Happy Boxing Day everyone! Hope you have all had the best Christmas so far with your friends and family and feel like you've overindulged on food and wine like I have!

This is the make-up look that I wore yesterday on Christmas Day, but I liked it so much that I am thinking about recreating this for New Year's Eve too (with some added lashes to dress it up a bit). But I love the red lip because its something that I don't wear that often, so when I do it feels extra glam and special. I thought I'd share with you this look and the products I used in case you need some last minute make-up ideas for your New Year's Eve look! It was super easy to create and would look great for a party or a more casual evening too...I'm having a quieter New Year's Eve this year but still want to wear special make-up because why not!

As you know, ASOS is one of my favourite brands all year round and it's probably the first place I look to when I'm online shopping, and Christmas time is no exception! ASOS always pull out the stops with their party-wear collection around Christmas time and there are so many different styles of outfits to pick from for all occasions over the festive period, such as for a work party, New Year's Eve or dinner parties....

I've picked out my top 8 favourite festive party outfits from ASOS to show you and I think there will be something perfect for everyone!

Crop Top Mini Sequin Skirt Bodycon Dress - £45.00

I'm not a massive lover of sequins usually but I think at Christmas it's definitely the time to be extra sparkly! This would be lovely for a New Year's Eve party and the colour is a gorgeous deep red which is festive in itself.

Midi Skirt With Asymmetric Wrap - £36.00

If you're not someone that likes to wear dresses then a skirt and top option could be better for you. I love A-line midi dresses because they give off a more sophisticated style and are really flattering on all body shapes. This one is also a lovely shimmery taupe colour which isn't too over the top but still has a festive shine to it.

Sequin V-Neck Shift Dress - £40.00

This is a classic Christmas party dress which would be great for a night out over the holiday period! It's gold and sparkly - what more could you want?! I also love the style of this dress with the capped sleeves and shift style, because this counteracts the plunged v-neck so it's not too sexy and over the top!

Premium Embellished Shift Dress - £48.50

Similar to the dress above but with silver tones instead of gold. An embellished dress makes any occasion seem special and its something that makes you feel really glam around this time of year. This is another lovely style with the v-neck and different textures across the back and front.

Strappy Mini Dress in Black - £65.00

You can't go wrong with a little black dress for any occasion, any time of year...but this one has lovely strap detailing across the back and an A-line skirt which would be great for a dinner party when you don't want to wear anything too tight!

Iridescent Embellished Mini Dress - £200.00

If you want to invest in a really gorgeous party piece, then this dress and the brand in general is really worth a look. This dress is a gorgeous pearl colour which is good for any time of year, but is also very special for Christmas with the added embellishments. It's a body-con fit and a lovely flattering shape with the higher neckline.

Fringe Jumpsuit £75.00

If you don't really fancy wearing a dress or skirt, then a jumpsuit might be the option for you. I love this one because its a bit more fun and interesting for the party season with the culotte style leg and the fringing detail across the front.

Cowl Back Sequin Playsuit - £30.00

If you feel more comfortable in shorts than skirts then this playsuit will be perfect for a New Year's Eve or Christmas party! The gold is a slightly darker tone and so isn't so bright, but the sequin effect makes it stand out as an occasion piece. I also love the cowl back because it makes it a bit more interesting and sexy.
